about

May 19th marks the day of my childhood best friends passing. Losing him at such a young age was a tragedy. We shared so many wild adventures and new experiences, he was like a brother. After I moved to LA, flying home for Christmas was the only time I got to see him. You never know when it’s the last time your going to see someone so enjoy every moment with those you love. Rest well my friend you are still by my side! This track features the amazing violin work of the incredibly talented Joylin and my JCB brother Dean playing bass and making everything sound like magic in a speaker. Can’t thank them enough!

lyrics

Hey hey now where have you gone
I was thinking about you today
I't been some time but these tears in my eyes
Never seem to go away
Is it nice up there, free from cares
I know the world had been so cold
When your looking down to see what's shaking with me
I hope you get the feelings my words can't hold
I say a prayer for your mother
Because she was like one to me
I don't understand
Why didn't you talk to me
C) This world is an illusion
A struggle of hope and fear
Christmas means something different now
We won't be coming home this year
We won't be home this year
I still have the letter you sent to me
You told me it was your first one
It said Rehabs a joke and I'm outta smokes
and I hate the man that calls me son
Now it seems to me we were just 17
and all that mattered was the summer sun
Those teenage dreams of immortality
Have now faded into dust
I say a prayer for your mother
Because she was like one to me
I don't understand
Why didn't you talk to me
C) This world is an illusion
A struggle of hope and fear
Christmas means something different now
We won't be coming home this year
We won't be home this year
